Bucherer visiting Brasserie Colette Munich

A special occasion with Tim Raue

At the end of last year, Tim Raue personally invited guests to the Brasserie Colette Munich. His guest of honour for the evening was the Munich branch of the Bucherer Group, known as the largest watch and jewellery trading company in the world (and also one of the oldest). With its 36 branches in Europe, the group maintains a veritable treasure trove for lovers of exquisite jewellery collections and watches.

The evening with Tim Raue came about through personal contacts - the Bucherer Group wanted to host a thank-you event for selected VIP customers during the pre-Christmas season.

Berlin delicacies meet Munich joie de vivre

Tim Raue, who usually only hosts exclusive "Tim Raue evenings" at Brasserie Colette Munich, put together a unique 4-course menu for the Bucherer event, which had never before been featured on our menu in this form:

Salmon "à la Isabelle" with char caviar & sweet potato cream

Bisque de crustacé with physalis, tomato & coriander

Crispy duck "kopi leaves" with currant & pepper

Macadamia nougat with calamansi & quince

In conversation: Isabel Witt, Managing Director Bucherer Munich

Isabel Witt, the managing director of Bucherer Munich and hostess on the aforementioned evening, was visibly pleased with the response from her guests. We had the opportunity to talk to her afterwards about this great event:

Ms Witt, how do you know Tim Raue and how did this special collaboration come about?

The wait time for a table at Tim Raue's restaurant is almost as long as that for some highly sought-after watches… but I was lucky enough to snag one of the coveted tables during my business trip to Berlin. Since then, I've been thrilled by the unique culinary experience. And that's despite having grown up in Asia and having sampled many highlights. The deconstructed Peking duck absolutely blew me away. I never thought a Peking duck on a compact plate could have so much presence and conviction. And just the way to the restrooms was like a journey through the famous Chatuchak Market in Bangkok, where I could admire the most extraordinary home decor lined up.

And since then, I had it in my mind that I absolutely had to experience Tim Raue live. I even postponed my holiday to Thailand to be able to experience him on one of his 'Tim Raue evenings'. My conclusion: He is just like his creations. He embodies exotic diversity with depth & bite, always combined with an unexpected twist.

Judging by your photos, it seems to have been a very entertaining and sociable evening. What particularly stuck in your memory?

Tim Raue has another outstanding talent besides cooking: He thrills people with his speeches – and this across all age groups. I was really impressed by how he completely captivated my 40 extremely demanding VIP clients and entertained them with his amusing and inspiring anecdotes in vivid language until the end. As the crowning highlight, he surprised each guest with a personalised dedication of his newly published book 'Herr Raue reist'.
